So, the summer season is finally here! Are you ready to face summer? The question should be, is your skin ready to face summer? Most of us love summer simply because skin woes reduced greatly unlike cold seasons but did you know that you could come out of summer with a skin that is worse than before? This is especially true if you are not caring for your skin during summer. Below are simple ways on maintaining beautiful skin during the summer season.

Protect your skin from the sun

The sun rays carry ultraviolet light which is very harmful to the skin. These UV rays can cause sunburns, premature aging and skin pigmentation.

To enjoy summer and still feel protected from the sun, make sure you apply sunscreen every time you go out in the sun. In fact, you should apply sunscreen always to protect your skin. Wearing hats and avoiding sun tans can all maintain the natural beauty of your skin.

Adopt a good skin care routine

A good skin care routine goes beyond washing and just cleansing regularly. In fact, you have to do a lot more than that. Cleanse your skin at least twice a day to remove dirt and sweat which is more prone during summer.

Also, ex foliate at least twice a week to remove dead skin cells to enable your skin breathe and glow during summer. The last step is moisturizing. Summer should not make you keep your moisturizers away, your skin needs moisture throughout the day. So, washing your skin twice a day, ex foliating on a weekly basis and moisturizing daily will help you maintain your youthful soft skin the entire summer.

Drink lots of water

You are prone to sweating during summer. This could leave your body dehydrated, and the effects of a dehydrated body can be seen on a skin that appears wrinkly and tired looking. To avoid this, drink at least eight glasses of water daily. Water helps rejuvenate skin cells and the sweat acts as a channel to clean your pores by removing dirt that often times causes acne problems.

Eat healthy

Eat what is good for your skin. A diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables will most likely give you a beautiful skin as opposed to a diet that is unhealthy. Eat a clean diet. Avoid fatty foods and processed foods as these could cause an imbalance in your skin’s normal PH causing break outs.

Get plenty of sleep
